Washington DC Marketing Graduate Degree Programs

American University
American University’s Kogod School of Business offers a one year, full-time graduate program leading to the Master of Science in Marketing (MSMKTG). The 30 credit program runs in cohort format and requires students to complete 24 credits in core courses and an additional six credits of electives. Core coursework encompasses brand strategy, nonprofit marketing, digital marketing, and entertainment marketing while electives focus on marketing for social change, sports marketing management, and database marketing. Graduate students are divided into teams and work hand-in-hand with the District’s top marketing firms to develop and execute a marketing campaign then analyze the results of that campaign. The Kogod School of Business also hosts an executive speaker series in addition to Marketing Day and Consulting Day. Marketing students are also encouraged to join the Marketing Club.

Georgetown University
Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business confers the Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in marketing, with the program focused on five core values: learning, global mindset, integrity, professionalism, and community. The full-time program takes two years to complete with the first year consisting of core business classes and the second year devoted to specific concentrations. First year MBA students will take the structure of global industries, a course that will prepare them to consult an international company, which they will visit during the second year of the program. Marketing electives encompass all aspects of the field: new product development, social marketing, strategic market segmentation, emerging markets, and how to build strong brands. Each fall and spring semester features a career week, during which time MBA students are encouraged to travel overseas to meet with industry leaders and Georgetown graduates. Past program participants have traveled to Hong Kong, Madrid, and Dubai.

Washington DC Marketing Undergraduate Degree Programs

George Washington University
The George Washington University School of Business features a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a marketing concentration. Undergraduates will complete both core and elective marketing courses to fulfill concentration requirements with coursework focusing on consumer behavior, advertising, salesmanship and sales management, and marketing communications planning. Marketing majors can get involved with student organizations such as the George Washington chapter of the American Marketing Association and the Capitol Advertising Club. Students are also encouraged to consider student memberships with the Business Marketing Association and the Direct Marketing Association. Short and long term study abroad opportunities are available in numerous countries, including France and the United Arab Emirates.

Catholic University
The Catholic University of America allows students to earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) with a concentration in marketing. The 120 credit program traditionally takes four years to complete and requires the completion of general college requirements in liberal arts in addition to business and marketing core coursework. Marketing majors can opt for a sports management specialization, but minors can generally not be business-related. Semester study abroad opportunities are available and marketing majors who want to become involved on campus and in the local community can join the Business Professional Society.
