Pennsylvania Marketing Graduate Degree Programs

University of Pennsylvania
Graduate marketing students at the University of Pennsylvania have the opportunity to take part in the prestigious MBA program offered by UPenn’s Wharton School of Business. Wharton’s MBA program equips graduate business students with the fundamental management and critical thinking skills to succeed in high-level business careers. Wharton has one of the largest selections of graduate marketing programs in the country. MBA students with an interest in marketing may choose to pursue either a marketing major or a joint major in marketing and operations management. The marketing major examines foundational approaches to understanding markets, competitors, and products. Marketing majors take three required courses: Marketing Management, Marketing Research, and Dynamic Marketing Strategy. They then take at least three marketing electives according to their personal interests or career goals. Marketing elective options include courses such as Monetizing Emerging Interactive Media, Digital Marketing and Electronic Commerce, Marketing in the Age of the Empowered Consumer, Applied Probability Models in Marketing, Entertaining and Sports Marketing, and Social Impact of Marketing. The marketing and operations management joint major consists of seven courses and is particularly relevant to students with an interest in marketing in business-to-business marketing in the manufacturing or service sectors.

Temple University
The Fox School of Business at Temple University offers multiple options for graduate study in marketing. Students may apply for a Master of Business Administration in Marketing, a Master of Science in Marketing Research, a Master of Science in Marketing Communications, or a PhD in Marketing. Marketing majors at the University of Pittsburgh’s College of Business Administration earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. The BSBA marketing degree is designed to provide students with a combination of conceptual knowledge and practical application skills to prepare them to address major marketing issues of the business world. To earn the degree, marketing majors must complete a minimum of 120 credits, fulfill all of the university’s arts and science requirements, fulfill all of the BSBA business core requirements, and complete 18 credits in marketing coursework. The marketing curriculum includes three required courses: Introduction to Marketing, Marketing Research, and Consumer Behavior. The remainder of the degree may be fulfilled by taking a minimum of marketing elective courses such as Principles of Selling, Sales Force Management, Public Relations Management, Services Marketing, Retail Management, International Marketing, Managing Global Supply Chains, Electronic Commerce, and Product Development and Management. Students also have the option to complete a marketing internship for credit in place of one elective course.

Pennsylvania State University
The marketing major at Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) is offered through the marketing department at the Smeal College of Business. The degree is intended to provide foundational knowledge in the four “P’s” of marketing: product, place, price, and promotion. Marketing majors are taught by an esteemed group of faculty members who contribute regularly to leading marketing academic journals. The department is frequently ranked among the top 20 marketing departments in the country for research output. Faculty members also consult with major companies such as IBM, Dupont, and SAP.
