New Hampshire Marketing Graduate Degree Programs

Southern New Hampshire University
Southern New Hampshire University offers an entirely online MBA in Marketing degree program through the university’s College of Online and Continuing Education. The award-winning online college offers the flexibility of an individualized virtual program with the advantage of a degree title from a respected and accredited non-profit university. The marketing emphasis of the MBA program is designed to provide graduate students with a deeper understanding of advertising, communications, branding, and consumer behavior. Students study the way in which marketing challenges affect all aspects of an organization’s operations and learn tools to be effective leaders in the business world. Marketing students interact with professors and peers through online forums, group projects, and case study analysis, and can earn the MBA degree in as few as 18 months. The MBA program at Southern New Hampshire University is also one of the most affordable online graduate programs in the country and does not require the GMAT or GRE for admission.

Plymouth State University
Graduate students at Plymouth State University can enroll in the Strategic Marketing Management certificate program offered through the School of Graduate Studies. Though the certificate program does not result in a degree unto itself, the credits earned can count toward the university’s general MBA program. The certificate is designed to expose students to contemporary issues in marketing and to increase their knowledge base of effective marketing strategies and tactics. The Strategic Marketing Management program consists of 12 credits – 6 credits of required courses and 6 credits of marketing elective courses. Required business courses include The Legal Environment of Business and Marketing Techniques. For the remaining two courses, students can choose from any of the following: Applications in Market Research, Behavioral Perspectives in Marketing, Current Issues in Marketing, and Seminar in Corporate Public Relations. At Plymouth State, students are allowed to take up to 12 credits before being admitted. Thus, students do not need to formally apply to the university in order to complete the certificate.

New Hampshire Marketing Undergraduate Degree Programs

University of New Hampshire
Undergraduate students majoring in business administration at the University of New Hampshire can specialize in marketing through the university’s marketing option. The option consists of four required courses – Marketing Research, Consumer/Buyer Behavior, Marketing Workshop, and Marketing Opportunity Analysis—along with two additional higher-level marketing courses. These courses focus on the development and delivery of products, effective communication with customers, and the use of critical thinking and management skills to solve marketing challenges. The Marketing Workshop courses offers a unique opportunity for students to integrate their theoretical knowledge with real-world applications by participating in a semester-long case study of a real business, nonprofit organization, or government agency. Undergraduate marketing students may also enhance their academic experience through the participation of internships for credit and in the Marketing & Advertising Club or Sales Club.

Rivier University
A small Catholic institution in Nashua, New Hampshire, Rivier College offers a Bachelor of Science in Marketing degree. The 54-credit program is designed to prepare students to take on marketing roles in private, public, and nonprofit organizations. The college’s liberal arts approach provides a holistic framework for successful marketing careers. Marketing majors complete a 36-credit business core, which includes courses such as Business Communications, Principles of Microeconomics, Business Law, Managerial Accounting, Managerial Finance, Strategic Management, and Introductory Statistics. Majors then complete a marketing core consisting of Contemporary Advertising Management, Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research, and Sports and Entertainment Marketing. Students have the opportunity to enroll in business elective courses and are also required to take “Exploration Area” electives in the areas of humanities, social sciences, natural/physical sciences, and professional studies. One credit in service learning may apply toward degree requirements, and students may participate in business internships for credit.

Specifically, I really liked focusing on just one class at a time, only attending class once a week, and knocking courses out in six weeks. The instructors were extremely knowledgable and helpful. You knew that they wanted you to succeed. The down side was that they could be difficult to contact outside of class because they usually worked full time jobs in the industry that they teach. This also caused a problem for a few of them when it came to grading and returning assignments. It was a good experience but it is an expensive way to get a degree that is not highly respected. Also if you plan to transfer, like I did, prepare to retake some of the courses again because some schools will not honor the curriculum from Phoenix as comparable to their own or other universities. I have gotten a lot of attitude about UoP but I have taken online courses elsewhere with the same amount of class hours and equal work and was never questioned like I was for UoP courses.” – student at University of Phoenix
