South Dakota Marketing Graduate Degree Programs

South University
South University confers the Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a marketing concentration to graduate students who successfully complete the 48 credit hour online program. All MBA students, regardless of their concentration, will take four foundation courses, each worth four credits, and three core courses, the latter of which include managerial finance, operations and supply chain management, and strategic marketing. Marketing majors complete four courses to fulfill their concentration requirements: global marketing, market research, consumer behavior, and advertising and promotion. A capstone course rounds out degree requirements. University of Phoenix
The University of Phoenix affords students the convenience of earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a marketing concentration entirely online. MBA students working toward a general degree will complete 36 credits while those concentrating in marketing will take 51 credit hours, 15 in marketing, to fulfill general degree and concentration requirements. Graduate students will complete core business coursework focusing on management, business law, organizational leadership, economics, and accounting. Marketing courses encompass marketing energy, strategic planning and implementation, integrated marketing communications, and consumer behavior. All University of Phoenix students work with an advisor, who will help them identify potential scholarships, grants, and loans. Applications for admission are accepted on a rolling basis.

South Dakota Marketing Undergraduate Degree Programs

Dakota State University
Dakota State University in Madison awards the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing. Marketing majors will complete 45 credit hours of required business courses and 21 credit hours of marketing courses and electives to fulfill their major requirements. The Marketing Department encourages marketing majors to complete a minimum of one internship and to expand their marketable skills by enrolling in a graphic design or an electronic publishing course. Past marketing majors have interned at the Sioux Falls Jazz Society and Daktronics. Real word activities with local businesses – crafting marketing plans, initiating sales calls, and developing promotional plans – are integrated into courses to give students hands-on experience. Marketing class sizes for upperclassmen generally have 20 students or less.

University of South Dakota
The University of South Dakota’s Beacom School of Business allows students to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a marketing concentration at its Vermillion campus and its Sioux Falls university center. The 120 credit program includes 47 credit hours in business and marketing core courses and electives. Freshmen and sophomores spend their first two years of study fulfilling general college requirements and pre-business coursework, including accounting, business statistics, calculus, and a survey of business. Juniors, who have successfully finished the pre-business coursework, may then apply for the marketing major, provided they have completed 45 credits and maintained a minimum 2.5 GPA. Academically gifted students may be eligible to join the Honor Society.
