North Carolina Marketing Graduate Degree Programs

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
Graduate students enrolled in the University of North Carolina’s full-time MBA program may opt to pursue a marketing concentration. The concentration develops proficiency in four key areas of marketing: customer management, product management, marketing strategy, and market analysis. In these areas, students learn such concepts as customer profitability, customer development and retention, market positioning and targeting, approach in global markets, brand analysis, and marketing modeling. In addition to the core courses required for all MBA students, marketing concentrators take six marketing-specific courses such as Global Marketing, Retail and Channel Management, Customer Relationship Strategy & Practices, Marketing Analysis & Decision Making, Innovation & Product Development, Services Marketing, Health Care Marketing, and Entrepreneurial Marketing. Graduate business students take advantage of the business school’s 100+ elective course offerings, student-focused collaborative culture, integrated leadership program, and experiential learning opportunities. Marketing students also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of MBA clubs including career clubs, diversity clubs, and advisory boards.

Duke University
Graduate marketing students at Duke University earn a Master of Business Administration degree from the university’s Fuqua School of Business. The school offers four MBA options: a daytime MBA program, a weekend MBA program, a cross continent MBA program, and a global executive MBA program. Students enrolled in the daytime MBA program follow a more traditional graduate structure, immersing themselves fully in theoretical and functional knowledge that will allow them to succeed in the global business environment. Daytime MBA students can complete a Concentration in Marketing, which is designed for students interested in consumer goods, business-to-business transactions, health care, consulting, technology, or other career paths in which marketing skills might be an asset. The concentration consists of six marketing and non-marketing electives in one of three tracks: Product Management, Market Analysis and Strategy, or the Dual Marketing Concentration. The weekend program is designed for students in need of a more flexible educational schedule, while the cross continent program focuses on global and international business issues. The global executive program also has an international emphasis, but is geared toward students who are already senior marketing managers and wish to enhance their careers.

North Carolina Marketing Undergraduate Degree Programs

North Carolina State University
Undergraduate marketing students at North Carolina State University work toward a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree. Offered through the Poole College of Management, the degree focuses on core business functions and is designed to prepare students to be effective business professionals with strategic and critical thinking skills. BSBA students complete a core curriculum that emphasizes teamwork, information technology, and problem solving. The business core includes such courses as Legal and Regulatory Environment, Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Economics and Business Statistics, Information Systems Management, and Business Policy and Strategy. Marketing BSBA students can gain a more in-depth knowledge of the field by declaring a marketing concentration. The concentration consists of a required marketing course and an additional three marketing electives.

Appalachian State University
Appalachian State University offers an undergraduate program in marketing through the Walker School of Business. In the marketing program, students gain practical knowledge by identifying business problems and developing marketing plans and by examining the underlying factors in buyer behavior, product management, distribution, and research. The curriculum also emphasizes the ethical and social implications of marketing decisions on for-profit, non-profit, and public sectors. Marketing majors earn a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. In addition to the business core, marketing students complete 15 semester hours of a marketing required core and 3 semester hours of a marketing elective. The marketing core consists of the following courses: Sales Management, Integrated Marketing Communications, Managing Distribution Channels, Consumer Behavior, and Marketing Research. The marketing department includes 12 full-time faculty members who work closely with students to collaborate on application of marketing principles and research.
