New Mexico Marketing Graduate Degree Programs

New Mexico State University
Although the MBA program at New Mexico State University does not offer an official marketing track, it does provide extensive marketing course offerings through the university’s marketing department. Graduate students who wish to pursue a career in academia should consider the New Mexico State University Marketing PhD Program. The major objective of NMSU’s PhD program is to provide students with theoretical, research, and applied skills in marketing. Doctoral candidates achieve this learning objective by obtaining a general theoretical grounding in business, developing individualized marketing research projects, and advancing their understanding of ethics, values, and integrity as it relates to the field of marketing. The PhD curriculum includes coursework that provides a conceptual and methodological foundation for marketing research including: Marketing Management Seminar, Research-Theory Interface, Consumer Behavior Seminar, Statistical Interface, and Measurement and Structural Equation Modeling. Graduates of the Marketing PhD Program have gone on to receive placements at a diverse range of institutions including Appalachian State University, Auburn University, City University of Hong Kong, Texas State University, Tennessee State University, University of Southern Maine, and Cal Poly Pomona.

The University of New Mexico
Graduate Students at the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management can advance their marketing knowledge through an MBA degree with a concentration in marketing. The marketing concentration prepares participants for careers in marketing research, advertising, retail, distribution, customer relations, product management, and sales and technology development. Among other core areas of marketing, students learn skills in the planning and execution of products, pricing, promotion, distribution, and customer satisfaction. MBA marketing concentrators take 15 credit hours including two required courses: Research for Marketing Management and Marketing Strategy. The remainder of the credit hours may be fulfilled through a range of marketing electives including Marketing Services, International Marketing, Sales Management, Marketing Communications Management, Supply Chain Strategy, and Marketing and Society Internship. Marketing concentrators also have the option of pursuing a dual concentration with the Marketing and Operations Management Concentration in as little as 21 credit hours. To achieve dual concentration, students must take designated courses that are cross-listed in both areas of study.

New Mexico Marketing Undergraduate Degree Programs

Eastern New Mexico University
Undergraduate marketing students at Eastern New Mexico University earn a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in marketing. Along with completing all of the general education requirements of the university, BBA students enroll in an extensive business foundation core curriculum, which includes such courses as Legal Environment of Business, Spreadsheets & Data Analysis, Production and Operations Management, Managerial Finance I, and Business Strategy & Policy. Students pursuing the marketing emphasis complete an additional 18-credit program including Services Marketing, Integrated Marketing Communications, one upper division marketing elective, and three upper division College of Business electives. The department offers a diverse selection of courses, including courses that also satisfy the BBA degree’s international course requirement.

New Mexico Junior College
Undergraduate marketing students at New Mexico Junior College receive an Associate of Arts with an Emphasis in Marketing upon successful completion of their studies. The two-year program is designed to prepare students for entry-level careers in business or for transfer to a four-year institution. To earn the AA degree, marketing students must complete 40-43 credits of general education requirements and 21-24 credit hours in the marketing emphasis. The marketing curriculum consists of a series of business courses designed to prepare students with a foundation in fundamental business theories and practices. The business faculty works closely with students to help them choose an individualized academic plan that meets their particular academic and professional goals. Potential courses include: Professional Development, Principles of Management, Business Communications, Principles of Marketing, Small Business Management, Entrepreneurship, E-Commerce, Business Statistics, and Business Information Systems.
