Rutgers University
Graduate marketing students at Rutgers University have two marketing track options within the university’s MBA program – a concentration in marketing or a concentration in marketing research insights & analytics (MRIA). All Rutgers MBA students complete a 19-credit core curriculum of courses including Accounting for Managers, Ethics, Business & Society, Managerial Economic Analysis, Marketing for Decision Making, Operations Analysis, and Organization Behavior. The marketing concentration consists of an additional 15-credit curriculum including three required courses: Marketing Research, Marketing Strategy, and Pharmaceutical Marketing Research. The concentration is designed to prepare students for successful executive marketing careers in a range of industries. Students in the MRIA concentration complete an 18-credit marketing curriculum including courses such as Advanced Marketing Research, Analytics for Business Intelligence, Consumer Behavior, and Marketing Insights. The concentration prepares students for careers as marketing intelligence professionals and places particular emphasis on research skills and the implementation of strategic business decisions. New Jersey City University
New Jersey City University offers a MBA with a Marketing Specialization degree. The professor was always prepared although the program itself was not structured the way I thought it would be. The school prided themselves on being the best in the industry and then when I got there, it was an old mansion that was converted into a school. Also, it ended up being a certificate program instead of an associates degree program. The school was more geared to technology then it was anything else. I liked that they had classes to fit my schedule after work. The program was not bad overall, but I was promised a job placement at the end which never happened. Student Review: “It is safe to say that my marketing program experience in Montclair State University was quite a blast. Overall, the courses were pretty challenging, but they really pulled the creativity out of you. As we well know, marketing is all about being able to communicate a product or service’s value, with a target profit in mind. Marketing professors in Montclair made the process easier by using real-life examples and situations that made concepts easier to grasp. They were open to discussions with students and were available several times during the week for appointments. Every now and then, guest speakers would come into classes to help students learn more about real-world marketing strategies and scenarios. The college itself would also hold one or a couple of marketing conferences during the semester, which adds to marketing students’ learning. College job fairs are also held twice a year and several marketing opportunities are presented. Online courses weren’t bad either.
