Iowa Marketing Graduate Degree Programs

Iowa State University
Iowa State University features a full-time two year graduate program leading to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a marketing concentration. Graduate students will complete 48 credits to earn their degree, with 18 of those credits focusing on marketing coursework. Applicants may also opt for the part-time MBA program, which has an identical curriculum and generally takes less than three years to complete. MBA students are encouraged to broaden their horizons and expand their resumes by participating in a three week study abroad session in Italy or Denmark. Study abroad tours are also offered to Brazil. The Iowa State MBA Case Competition provides students the opportunity to test the knowledge and skills they’ve gained during coursework during the two day competition held each academic year.

Northeastern University
Northeastern University’s D’Amore-McKim’s School of Business allows students to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a marketing concentration entirely online. The 51 credit program, during which students will take 17 courses, generally takes two and a half years to complete and students must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0 to earn their degree. MBA students may begin the program during one of nine sessions during the year and are only permitted to take one course a session. Students wishing to take a session off must first receive permission from the university. In addition to core business courses, MBA students concentrating in marketing will choose from a full menu of marketing electives: market-focused strategy, digital marketing, international marketing, and marketing in the service sector.

Iowa Marketing Undergraduate Degree Programs

University of Iowa
Undergraduate students in The University of Iowa’s Bachelor of Science (BS) in Marketing program will complete 120 credits in general college courses and core and elective marketing classes. Marketing majors typically take five classes a semester – fall and spring – to complete their degree in the traditional four years. The college boasts that 91 percent of its 2011 marketing graduates secured employment or had started graduate school six months after graduation. The Tippie College of Business encourages students to study abroad for a semester, a full academic year, or for a short session. Marketing majors may also participate in semester projects through the university’s Marketing Institute. The projects allow students to work together in conjunction with a client, solving a problem or completing a task. Interested students must apply for a spot in the Marketing Institute.

Upper Iowa University
Upper Iowa University offers students flexibility in where they can earn their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Marketing degree: at the university’s Fayette campus, a local educational center, or online. Marketing majors will, in addition to core and elective marketing courses, take business coursework focusing on economics, accounting, business law, and corporate financial management. Students can choose electives based on their particular marketing interests with offerings such as global marketing, personal selling, sales management, and consumer behavior. Academically eligible students may apply for the university’s Honor Program.
