Delaware Marketing Graduate Degree Programs

Wilmington University

Wilmington University confers the Master of Science in Management (MSM) with a concentration in marketing to those who successfully complete the 36 credit graduate program at its Wilmington, Delaware campus; some courses are available online. Graduate students complete 18 business management courses, 12 marketing courses, and six electives to earn their MSM in marketing. Marketing courses cover global marketing management, analysis of decision-making, and strategy in organization. Two integrated independent studies are also offered, which allow graduate students to develop a foundation in organizational research. MSM students will advance to degree candidacy after completing four courses provided they have maintained a 3.0 GPA.

Goldey-Beacom College

Goldey-Beacom College features a 36 credit Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a marketing management concentration. All graduate students will take two foundational courses: financial management foundations and quantitative foundations and business applications in addition to seven core MBA classes. Two marketing courses (international marketing and current topics in marketing) and one elective are required, the latter of which is usually in marketing or management. Graduate students may be eligible for a number of merit-based scholarships offered by Goldey-Beacom College and other organizations. The college also offers a graduate scholarship to domestic students, which decreases the cost of tuition by $382 a credit.

Delaware Marketing Undergraduate Degree Programs

University of Delaware

The University of Delaware offers the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a marketing major. Many students also opt to double major, combining the marketing major with management, operations management, international business studies, or sport management. The Alfred Learner College of Business and Economics employs seasoned professors, many of whom have been widely published in academic journals. Marketing research, marketing strategy, information technology, and buyer behavior are all courses marketing majors will take. Marketing majors may study abroad. Academic and semester programs are available throughout Europe as well as in Australia and in Peru.

Delaware State University

Delaware State University affords undergraduate students the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in marketing. The Business Department boasts faculty from six countries, many of whom have been published in academic and industry journals and all of whom provide mentorship to students in the department. Students typically complete between five and six classes a semester to finish the 120 credit program in a traditional four years and take an eclectic mix of marketing courses, such as marketing strategy, marketing management, and international marketing. All marketing majors must complete a learning experience, such as an internship or a management exposure experience, hat takes them out of the classroom and gives them real world experience. Internships require students to complete 200 hours of verifiable work at an organization.

Unlike many states, the job outlook in Delaware isn’t quite as rosy for marketing managers. Marketing managers, who typically have a bachelor’s degree, can expect a drop in employment opportunities with 950 jobs in 2010 and only 931 expected by 2020.3 Marketing specialists, however, will enjoy job growth over the next eight years.3 In 2010, there were an estimated 1,796 marketing specialist positions in Delaware; that number is expected to jump to 1,875 in 2020.3 The Delaware Department of Labor considers the job outlook for marketing specialists in the state “good” and notes that industries with the most job openings over the course of the decade are expected to be marketing, sales, and service. was named to Inc’s list of top advertising and marketing firms in the United States.
