Connecticut Marketing Graduate Degree Programs

University of Connecticut
The University of Connecticut’s School of Business confers the Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a marketing concentration with graduate students choosing from one of several marketing specializations: marketing/intelligence research, marketing for global competitiveness, and strategic brand management. The full-time MBA program takes two years to complete and requires graduate students concentrating in marketing to take core MBA courses in addition to 24 credits in marketing courses. All MBA students must complete a summer internship between their first and second years in the program and are encouraged to become involved in the campus community. UConn is home to such student organizations as the Graduate Business Association, the Marketing Club, and the Society for Private Equity, Entrepreneurship, and Consulting. MBA students must have and bring a laptop computer to all of their classes on the Storrs’ campus.

Post University
Post University’s Malcolm Baldridge School of Business, in Waterbury, Connecticut, features an exclusively online graduate program leading to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a marketing concentration. Graduate students will complete both required business and marketing courses, including new product development, project management, and integrated marketing. The MBA program culminates in a capstone course, in which graduate students are required to develop a business plan or a consulting project under the guidance of a faculty mentor. Classes are small with approximately eight students and are held in intensive eight week sessions with six sessions each year. Graduate students typically take two courses per session, allowing many to complete the 45 credit MBA program within 18 months.

Connecticut Marketing Undergraduate Degree Programs

Western Connecticut State University
Western Connecticut State University’s Ancell School of Business awards the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in marketing or interactive marketing. The interactive marketing major is designed for students who want to pursue a career in internet marketing, e-commerce, and direct marketing. Both majors require students to complete core marketing courses, including consumer behavior, marketing research, and marketing management, and eight upper division marketing courses (24 credits). The Marketing Department also features courses in which students will work with local companies to complete projects, such as developing a social marketing plan. The Marketing Club on campus is a branch of the American Marketing Association, both of which marketing majors are encouraged to join. Both merit-based and financial-based scholarships may be available for eligible students.

Central Connecticut State University
Students who want to pursue a career in marketing can work toward the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a marketing major at Central Connecticut State University. Marketing majors will complete 33 credits in marketing, including four core courses and three electives in a diverse offering of topics: services marketing, marketing touristic startups, and relationship marketing. Students may also undertake an independent study for credit to delve deeper into research and understanding of a particular area of interest. Internships and field practicums allow students to get hands-on experience working with a local company or completing a project for a local organization. Marketing majors may also opt to spend an academic year or a semester studying abroad in Africa, Asia, or Europe.
